Lilydale Youth Hub

About

The Lilydale Youth Hub was a youth mental health service, supporting Yarra Ranges residents aged 12-25.

The program launched during 2021, and ran until the end of 2022.

In that time, the Hub supported and welcomed almost 1,600 young people through its doors, either for case management and peer support services, or to attend the many programs and activities on offer such as animal therapy, art therapy, yoga or the ever-popular, Thursday Hang out.

The funding for the service was time-limited and unfortunately wasn’t renewed by the Commonwealth government. The last day of the Hub’s operation was Friday 23 December.

The Hub was universally supported by the community, who wanted to see the Hub continue to support young Yarra Ranges residents. A campaign to get the Hub refunded was undertaken, getting media attention and even seeing a rally to save the Hub take place in Lilydale.

The Lilydale Youth Hub made a large impact in a short amount of time. We thank all of the young people who came to the Hub and made it such a special place.
